ID-POD – Logical access to computerized systems (Single Sign-On)

Back to ID-POD

Enterprises and organizations require strong authentication to protect their sensitive computer networks or even data on an individual PC/notebook from unauthorized access. Current methods like password verification are easily compromised as people write them down, forget them, create easy-to-guess passwords and use the same password for multiple systems.

ID-POD ™  enables organizations to use palm vein authentication to secure their valuable information and protect the privacy of customer and employee information. ID-POD ™  can be implemented to request the palm vein pattern when a system is booting up (i.e., BIOS) or when the operating system is started. It supports single sign-on (SSO) to enable a user to authenticate once and gain access to the resources of multiple software systems. Highly applicable for the healthcare environment, ID-POD ™  provides the strongest level of authentication to ensure patient data is securely handled, in compliance with HIPAA requirements.

ID-POD ™  minimizes log-in process to multiple applications by replacing lengthy password typing with simple biometric authentication to enable user access to certain applications or data areas. Palm vein biometric templates, user ID and password are centrally managed by the IT department. This helps to optimize IT operations and reduce costs associated with password management.
